Don't loose hope you can do it

Dear all,
Hope that your preparation is going on well. From my experience from the past four years, I want to tell you few things. I have seen average students preparing for just 2 months before the GATE exam and getting into IITs. I have seen some of them, I have studied with some of them and I have worked with some of them.

These students were nowhere close to being called geniuses. They are just ordinary students like you who have produced extraordinary results in just 2 months. What has helped them achieve this? Simple,
1. They were not at all worried about results. As they prepared for just two months, for them any result is a good result. So they never worried about the results while preparing.

2. As they were aware that they had only limited amount of time, they didn't try to do everything. They have just done enough. That is, they have borrowed good notes from their friends and understood everything that is there in the notes. They didn't read all the textbooks or the practice questions. They just understood the concepts and seen the examples about their application.

3. They read the same notes as many times as possible. This is called revision.
Now think about what you should be doing. You really have more than seven months. You have got all you need for the preparation. You have the notes and you have the time to revise. Just don't worry about the results. Fear of failure should never hold us back. Finish the complete syllabus first and make good running notes while studying.

Read the notes again and again. Do the things just enough to get you to IITs. Don't aim for excellence, we should first aim for what is possible and what is achievable. Don't aim for 100 marks. Our target is to finish the required amount of syllabus and revise them. Just stick to the basics and do them right. Please trust me, even if you start today, you will definitely be able to get into IITs with flying colours.

Don't give up. Keep preparing till the last day. It is you who wanted to do this in the first place. It is you who started it and not being forced by anyone else into this. It is probably the first independent decision that you have ever taken. Then why are you worried about what others will think if you fail. Please don't get any negative thoughts. Do it because it makes you feel good. Do it because your future is going to change with this few months of preparation. No need to prove anything to anyone. In fact, no one really cares about your results. Promise yourself that you will not give up till the end. And live up to that promise.

Remember you just need to score enough to get into IIT's. You are not there to score 90 or 100. If you get 60+ it's enough to get into IIT.

ALL THE BEST!
